College students’ mental health is known to have an impact on their college experience. Several studies suggest that college students encounter more complex problems today than they did over a decade ago. Along with the typical or expected college student problems like adjustment difficulties, performance anxiety, relationship problems and developmental issues, you’ll find an increase of students seeking help for more serious problems such as alcohol and other drugs abuse, depression, thoughts of suicide, and sexual assault.
The sub-heading menu to the left highlight some of the mental health issues, common symptoms and recommended interventions. Ultimately, the most important point to know is that no student needs to deal with it alone; and that The Counseling Center can help. Call 716-878-4436.
